Feb 15th, 2011 Customers who demand the ultimate in stream-to-disk performance consistently choose our NTM for monitoring critical links. The Network Time Machine offers flawless capture performance on the most demanding 10GBps Ethernet links – and now the laboratories of one of the largest telecommunications providers in the world have confirmed it.
NTT Advanced Technology (NTT-AT, a subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation) recently recognized the NTM for achieving sustained capture rates of 10.5 GBps full-duplex. This testing was performed under the most extreme conditions: continuously for three hours with all maximum- or all minimum- sized frames writing to a RAID-5 disk array. That’s over 1.6 trillion frames captured with zero dropped. While many vendors claim similar performance, it is not necessarily under such challenging extremes. “This verification gives us the utmost confidence in proposing Network Time Machine to carriers and enterprises that have stringent performance requirements,” said Mr. Satoshi Miyayama, chief manager, Network Verification Group, NTT-AT.
