HP has announced the appointment of Helen Rich as Enterprise Services (ES) Country Manager for HP South Africa, with immediate effect.

Rich takes over the role of Country Manager from Kam Chetty, who assumes a new role in developing growth initiatives for ES, in the South African and African markets. Rich also joins the HP South Africa Country Management Team.

“Helen brings with her 32 years of extensive experience in the IT industry,” says Frank van Rees, Managing Director, HP South Africa. ”This includes 13 years of experience at senior management level in ES and EDS, during which she fulfilled various leadership positions within business operations, commercial contract management, transition management, sales support, client management and delivery.”

For the past eight years Rich managed one of HP’s key accounts, ensuring delivery excellence and supporting the client in achieving their technology objectives. Since 2006, she also played the role of account business manager for the Sub-Saharan Africa region. Prior to joining EDS in 1998, Helen was the head of IT for Impala Platinum Holdings. Helen started her career in the IT industry as a programmer and project manager.

“Enterprises are looking for better ways to respond to the shifting expectations of IT. Customers, employees, and industry partners all want instant access to the information they need—now—no matter where they are, what time it is, or what device they have in their hands,” says Rich. “With our commitment to innovation, HP Enterprise Services is ready to work side by side with clients to innovate, manage information and risk, and become more agile so clients can better serve their customers and citizens.”

Van Rees concludes, “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Kam for all his efforts in leading the ES business. Kam joined EDS as the MD for Southern Africa region in late 2007, assisted in stabilising and growing the business, and successfully integrating EDS into HP.”

For clients with large, complex operating environments, HP Enterprise Services provides end-to-end IT services in applications, business process and infrastructure technology outsourcing for increased productivity, innovation, and security so businesses can plan for future growth and governments can efficiently deliver citizen services.
