LOOPHOLD Security Distribution has announced Barracuda Networks’ new Backup Server 1090, one of the largest backup appliances on the market. With model 1090, Barracuda Backup is Barracuda’s number one selling product line, and with the 1090 model, the flexible and simplified backup capabilities are extended to protect even larger environments with 90TB of storage, and also allows customers to manage all their backups up on a single platform.

Says Martin Tassev, Managing Director at LOOPHOLD Security Distribution: “Companies are increasingly requiring simplified backups and we are able to address this challenge with Barracuda Networks end-to-end solution that protects servers and applications in both physical and virtual environments. Having a single platform for larger environments will further assist corporates to reduce complexity whilst having a solution that can cater to their growing storage requirements.”

The Barracuda Backup Server 1090 is an ideal solution for customers protecting up to 45-50TB of primary data, with the ability to store nearly 90TB of data including retention files and histories. Barracuda Backup customers experience storage savings 20 to 50 times greater than the storage needed for traditional backup methods. Additionally, the Barracuda Backup Server 1090 offers much faster speeds with 10Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE).

As the new flagship model in the product lineup, the Barracuda Backup Server 1090 ships in a 4U chassis with (34) 3TB drives in RAID 60, powered by 32 cores and features large mirrored enterprise SSD drives to deliver fast database IO performance. Its impressive hardware configuration combines with industry leading backup technology to make this new class of backup appliance both big and fast.
