Software AG and Master Data Management, a South African specialist in Data Governance, Data Quality and MDM, today announced an alliance to enhance Software AG’s offering for Governance, Risk and Compliance and Data Management.

Software AG is well known for leadership positions in Business Process Management, Application Integration and SOA Governance.

Software AG’s Governance, Risk and Compliance offering is an integrated set of tools for control testing, issue tracking and risk assessment that offers preconfigured processes and models to address common regulatory requirements. The Data Governance approach added by MDM brings a focus on ensuring that core risk data complies with regulatory requirements.

According to Ike Kunene, Vice President Sales at Software AG, “Risk management requires a combination of people, process and data management. MDM’s data management philosophy and approach is aligned with Software AG’s focus on rapid time to value and pragmatic application of technology. Furthermore, Master Data Management has a proven track record in the South African market.”

The relationship also extends to the Data Management arena, where Software AG’s unique process driven approach to MDM is enhanced by Master Data Management’s focus on improving the value of enterprise information. The partnership combines the data management expertise of both companies and is supported by an end to end technology stack, based on seamless integration between Software AG’s webMethods OneData MDM solution and Trillium Software’s data quality platform, delivered to the South African market by Master Data Management.

“To support business operations any MDM implementation must be able to handle multiple subject areas, or domains, and provide accurate, complete and reliable data to support key business processes,” says Gary Allemann, MD at Master Data Management. “The Procure-to-pay process, for example, requires master data from both the Product and Vendor domains. The partnership between Software AG and Master Data Management is intended to create a seamless MDM experience that both optimises our customers’ business processes and increases the value and quality of data supporting business operations across any subject area.”

Ultimately, companies that implement MDM solutions achieve business efficiency through the use of a single view of the company’s information assets, shared across integrated applications throughout the enterprise. A value driven approach focuses on core business goals and supporting business processes and data, with time-to-value as a key differentiator.
