Tickets for the massive MTN Radio Awards Gala Banquet are now on sale and those in the industry are being urged to book early as the event promises to be a sell-out.

On the night of Saturday, 9 April, the movers and shakers in the radio industry will gather at the Sandton Convention Centre to congratulate and pay tribute to category winners, as well as find out who scoops the ultimate accolade of Radio Station of the Year.

In just its second year the MTN Radio Awards, that seek to recognise both on-air and behind the scenes talent, has received almost 400 entries, a substantial increase to the previous year’s entries.

Judges have now been allocated various categories and they will begin the mammoth task of listening and rating within the next few days.

Says Awards Steering Committee Chairman, Lance Rothschild: “While each category has different judging criteria, the judges will look broadly at creativity, presentation, value to listener and production quality.”

The fun starts once the category winners have been chosen. Organisers are expecting a packed house at the awards evening and this year there are three ticket options:
1.    Stations and industry stakeholders can buy individual tickets at R950 each excluding VAT. This includes drinks, a three-course meal and a copy of the commemorative publication On Air which includes write-ups on all the winners, and a comprehensive review of the radio industry.
2.    Option two is the purchase of eight tickets at the same price but an extra two are given for free. Ten tickets make up one table. This equates to a 20% discount on a single table. In addition, your radio station or brand is given a half page advert in On Air magazine, valued at over R10 000 for free. The publication is widely distributed to the radio industry, as well as the marketing and advertising community.
3.    Our third option is the purchase of two tables at the same price including four free tickets, but in addition, your radio station or brand is given a full-page profile in On Air, valued at overR15 000 for free.
