May 9th, 2011

•    Consequently Received AV-Test Certification for Windows 7

Global Cloud Company Panda Security has announced that Panda Internet Security 2011 has been certified by prestigious independent laboratory AV-Test in its Quarter 1 2011 Product Review and Certification Report. During the first quarter of 2011, AV-Test reviewed 22 security solutions in the areas of protection, repair and usability. The solution from Panda Security detected 100% of samples in the malware batch used by AV-Test, as well as those from it’s ‘in the Wild’ list.

The AV-Test ‘Protection’ tests covered static and dynamic malware detection, including real-world 0-Day attacks. In the case of ‘Repair’, they checked system disinfection and rootkit removal in detail. Finally, the ‘Usability’ testing included the system slow-down caused by the tools.

Panda Internet Security 2011 reached 5 out of 6 in Protection, and 4.5 out of 6 in Repair and Usability. Only 17 of the 22 products passed all the tests and were judged worthy of AV-Test’s certified badge.

‘It’s important to have robust and certified protection against web-based threats’, says Jeremy Matthews, head of Panda’s sub-Saharan operations. ‘Panda Internet Security offers this kind of protection as well as greater user flexibility, making it a great solution’, he concludes.
