Sentech gives back to community

Oct 5th, 2009

On 01 October 2009 Sentech staff in George responded to a mother’s appeal to accommodate her two children by donating and fitting in a Wendy House to the amount of R16 000 for the family.

Nellie is a mother with a daughter aged 9 and son aged 4. Nellie and her kids currently live with her mother in a 2 bed roomed municipality home where she strives to set an example for her kids under extremely adverse conditions.

Through its Corporate Social Investment programme and in line with Greater Good’s “do it day”, Sentech gave back to the community by providing a warm and safe place for a family in need.

The assistance programmes that Sentech is involved in are administered through its Corporate Social Investment programme as it reflectively recognizes its responsibility as a corporate citizen towards its stakeholders and the community within which it operates. The Company is therefore committed to playing a pivotal role in the alleviation of poverty and community adversity relief in its role as a good corporate citizen.  This can be attested by the fact that the Company continues to provide internships and bursaries to students on an annual basis in an effort to ensure that that the poverty wheel does not recur.  The Company also provides connectivity to rural schools and hospitals across the country.
