Better Performance for Pentel

As a long-standing service provider for Pentel, Synergy Group (Pty) Ltd was called in to assess their network infrastructure to determine whether it was running optimally.

“Pentel had Windows SBS 2003 running on old servers which were due to be replaced” says Sean Westmore, IT Solutions Operations Manager for Synergy.  “Pentel’sMD, Ted Shinoda, also required an upgraded environment in which their new Apple products would work.”

With their extensive product knowledge and expertise in the field of enhancing infrastructure performance, Synergy proposed that Pentel implement a new HP DL380 G7 server.  VMware’s virtualisation software will also be used to install their new Active Directory server, Exchange 2010 server as well as their Microsoft TMG firewall.

Sean Westmore comments, “this is why virtualisation is so great! Instead of buying separate servers for the different functions, we can use virtualisation to create virtual servers without the client having to buy an additional server!”
