Ellis Park goes high-tech for 2010 World Cup

ATIO, in partnership with Sukuma Global Communications, have been awarded the tender to provide world class integrated IP communications, cabling and electronic infrastructure to Coca Cola Park Stadium (formerly known as Ellis Park) by the City of Johannesburg ahead of the 2010 events. 

“We are certain that implementation of the Nortel 8600 and 5500 Ethernet Routing Switching network technology will meet their business needs in preparing Coca Cola Park ahead of the 2010 events,” says Andre le Roux, Managing Director, ATIO interactive division.

Nortel is has also been selected to provide the IT infrastructure for the Olympic Games in London for 2012.

Some of the Coca Cola Park requirements include the need for fully integrated IP communications, voice/data & fibre cabling and electronic infrastructure supporting security management, wireless security and IPTV support. The project has already commenced and is on track according to the project 2010 schedule.

ATIO is a Nortel Voice and Data Gold Partner, certified to supply and support all Nortel voice systems. The company has experience in systems integration, support and maintenance. “This combination will ensure that Ellis Park achieves an integrated IP network capable of delivering world class communications to all parts of the stadium during 2010,” concludes le Roux.
