HP Probook s-series hits SA shelves

HP distributor, Drive Control Corporation (DCC) has announced the availability of the new HP ProBook s-series to the South African channel.

These notebooks are aimed at the mid market, featuring lower price levels than other high performance machines that are currently available.

“What HP has achieved is a notebook series that offers the right mix of features and professional innovation at a great price point.  These benefits alone will undoubtedly strengthen our resellers’ endeavours in a competitive and price sensitive market,” comments Rad Sambasivan, HP PSG Product Manager at DCC.

The HP ProBook 4510s and HP ProBook 4515s offer a 15.6-inch diagonal 16:9 HD widescreen LED backlight display respectively.

Additionally, users can choose the optional HP Mobile Broadband connectivity with built-in Gobi technology while standard Wi-Fi certified WLAN and optional integrated Bluetooth wireless technology round out the wireless connectivity technologies.

Gobi technology enables HP notebooks to use a single module, the HP un2400, to support multiple mobile broadband network technologies and mobile operators.

These models also feature an integrated numeric keypad and a choice of Intel (4510s) or AMD (4515s) processors to address performance, connectivity demands. The 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch models also feature a numeric keypad.

The HP ProBook 4710s which incorporates a 17.3-inch diagonal HD widescreen display is the largest of the ProBook s-series notebooks. Aimed at more graphic-intensive environments, the notebook includes the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 with up to 512 megabytes of GDDR2 for video memory.

Finally, in addition to Microsoft Windows operating system (OS), select HP ProBook s-series models will offer preinstalled Novell SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11.
