The dedicated Novell division at local distributor, Workgroup, has announced that GroupWise licenses will be free to companies that move to a Novell collaboration environment effective immediately.
The promotion, designed to help organisations move to Novell GroupWise 8 at a reduced costs, was introduced to encourage users currently using competitive messaging platforms to migrate to GroupWise 8 for free with the only commitment required being one year of maintenance support for each user seat.
“This promotion is targeted at organisations using Microsoft Exchange, IBM Notes, Tobit David as well as other Linux-based messaging products,” says Sally Berimbau, Novell product manager at Workgroup. “Compared to these products, GroupWise offers lower total cost of ownership and quality messaging on Linux.”
The offer gives customers a license-to-license gift of the full version of GroupWise 8, technical support during the one-year maintenance period, an instant messenger solution and service packs and updates that ship during the one-year period.
The promotion will last through December 31, 2009 and offers 80 percent off the list price of the GroupWise solution.
