Free iPAQ download

HP today announced the availability of the 1000th application for its iPAQ range of PDAs and smartphones.

In recognition of this, HP is offering users a free software title download from its iPAQ Choice store for one month.

The 1,000th application, Spb Mobile Shell 3.0, improves the standard user interface and provides new functionality making it easier for users to quickly access applications or regularly change their wallpaper.

iPAQ Choice, which has over one million registered customers, offers an ever growing line-up of applications for iPAQ handhelds. This software portfolio spans a number of categories that include business and finance, organisers, travel, games, multimedia and entertainment applications.

“This is a significant landmark for HP and underscores our commitment to delivering a full and varied customer experience within the smartphone market,” said Charl Snyman, vice president, Personal Systems Group, HP Europe, Middle East and Africa. “Our iPAQ range continues to prove popular among professionals, who typically enjoy the practical functionality afforded by iPAQs, which meets their business requirements for powerful voice, email, Internet browsing and GPS applications.”

Upon purchase of an iPAQ, customers receive four iPAQ Choice points, which allows them to download software, free of charge. iPAQ Choice also allows customers to purchase additional points, which can be redeemed against various software applications and also offers a wide range of  HP accessories.
