Workgroup expands IBM portfolio
Distributor now offers both IBM software and hardware options
Workgroup has announced that it has added IBM hardware to its stable of product offerings in addition to IBM’s software profile.
“The approach Workgroup takes to the channel is unique in that, while our decentrally-managed divisions are responsible for their own results, we are always aware of the role each division plays in the growth of others and Workgroup as a whole,” he says.
“Being able to throw IBM hardware into the mix only strengthens our position as a holistic broad distributor and we’re eager to see how this move plays out in the market.”
As a result of this announcement, Workgroup will be hosting the following product sets from its head offices in Midrand:
– System x
– Power Series
– End-to-end Storage
IBM’s Andreas Kerstan, Vice President, Business Partner Organisation for Sub-Saharan Africa GMR, says that it is due, in part, to Workgroup’s separate yet inter-mingled divisions and the seamless one-account-for-all-divisions approach that prompted IBM to appoint the company.
“Workgroup offers a sound distribution structure and this partnership will go a long way towards helping us address channel requirements around access to IBM products and customised solutions.
“With its proven distribution muscle, vast national footprint and unique approach to embracing supportive technologies, this alliance with Workgroup will assist more of our customers in managing their expanding business needs.”
