SaaS solution offers 50% cost reduction
McAfee has announced the latest release of McAfee Total Protection Service, the industry’s first Security-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution.
Total Protection Service provides integrated endpoint, e-mail and Web protection with access to SecurityCenter, an online console managed by McAfee and available over the internet.
Delivered in a Security-as-a-Service model, in which McAfee manages the security infrastructure offsite, Total Protection Service automates updates and upgrades with ongoing maintenance and support. With SaaS delivery options, McAfee customers recognise cost savings of 50 percent on average.
“Total Protection Service is a key component of the McAfee Security-as-a-Service strategy,” says Jayson O’Reilly, regional manager for Africa at McAfee. “With this release, we’re broadening our SaaS offerings to enterprise customers. While small and mid-size businesses are very familiar with Total Protection Service, larger companies are realising the benefits of SaaS in helping them reduce operating costs while strengthening their security controls.”
McAfee Total Protection Service includes integrated endpoint protection (anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall), McAfee SiteAdvisor Web security, Web filtering and vulnerability scanning features. The new version will be available in August 2009. Access to the updated SecurityCenter management console allows administrators to improve their visibility and management flexibility with customised dashboards of their security environment.
