South African virtual desktop

Platform 45, a South African based software development firm, has built a virtual desktop called launchdeck.co.za

The desktop enables users to create shortcuts to websites and online applications.

According to Platform 45’s marketing manager, Josie Stewart, they developed launchdeck.co.za to allow users to store shortcuts to their SaaS applications – software that is hosted by a provider and accessed through a standard web browser.

Platform 45 developed their virtual desktop as part of their one-day app challenge and they are in turn challenging other software development companies to get involved with the initiative.
