Volume licensing management software released for SA
FrontRange Licence Manager gets an update
FrontRange Solutions today announced the launch of FrontRange License Manager 3.1, which introduces the ability to help organisations better manage their Microsoft Enterprise Agreements and other volume licensing arrangements.
For organisations that actively use Microsoft SMS 2003, FrontRange License Manager 3.1 includes a new data collector that can take software audit information from the ubiquitous systems management tool. The integration between License Manager and its default software audit source, FrontRange Discovery has also been enhanced.
Scott Johnson, product manager, FrontRange Solutions, South Africa commented: “With software budgets at best static, organisations need to focus on how they can better manage the software on their networks. License Manager is designed to help organisations drive out unnecessary costs by giving both IT and financial stakeholders the visibility and control needed to eliminate rogue purchasing, poor deployment practices and ineffective management of volume license agreements.”
FrontRange License Manager 3.1 also features a new bulk data import tool, which can take licensing information from multiple vendors and contracts, and load this into the license repository automatically, presenting a significant administrative saving to the end user organisation.
FrontRange License Manager is an integral part of the FrontRange SAM Suite solution, which comprises FrontRange SAM Essentials for project management, FrontRange Discovery for audit, FrontRange License Manager for license recording and reconciliation, and Net Install for packaging and deploying applications onto the network.
