Western Digital Drives to be shown at gaming expo
Drive Control Corporation (DCC) and Western Digital together with partner Computersonly.co.za will be on display at computers, gaming and technology expo rAge, held from 2- 4 October 2009 at the Coca-Cola Dome in Northgate, Johannesburg.
Also on display at rAge will be Western Digital’s Green Technology, Black Caviar as well as VelociRaptor hard drives.
According to Carlo Benevento, owner of Computersonly.co.za, the company set out to build a gaming platform that incorporates only the best gaming technologies.
“The Western Digital VelociRaptor hard drive was the obvious and preferred choice. Our 15-year relationship with Drive Control and Western Digital has proven to be extremely successful and the incorporation of the VelociRaptor is yet another milestone in this longstanding partnership.”
Adds Vassen Naicker, Western Digital product specialist at DCC: “We are excited that Computersonly.co.za has chosen the Western Digital VelociRaptor hard drive to be incorporated into their build of the Phoenix model. The VelociRaptor is a gaming hard drive of choice and its incorporation into the Phoenix model is another great achievement.”
Designed with an enterprise-class foundation, the new WD VelociRaptor hard drive is modified specifically for PC and Mac enthusiasts and professional workstations.
The Phoenix is available in AMD Phenom and Intel Core processor versions.
The platform is factor ‘overclocked’ and features, among others, Nvidia’s XFX GeForce graphic card and coolermaster power supply and chassis. The Phoenix gaming PC is available from R 8 000 upwards.
