2TB hard drive released to SA public
Largest Western Digital hard drive launched locally
Drive Control Corporation (DCC) has introduced the latest evolution in Western Digital’s (WD) Caviar Black range, the 2TB drive and Scorpio Black 320GB mobile drive.
The Caviar Black 2TB drive features storage and performance statistics such as 7200 RPM spin speed, 64 MB cache, dual stage actuator technology, a SATA (serial ATA) 3 gigabits per second (Gb/s) interface, and an integrated dual processor.
“Adding a whopping two terabyte capacity to the family, WD is undoubtedly providing our resellers with a drive that offers the best possible mix of capacity, performance and reliability for demanding desktop computing.” says Vassen Naicker, WD product specialist at DCC.
Looking at the Western Digital Scorpio Black it has been designed with high-end notebooks in mind, offering speed and capacity without affecting battery life.
Adds Naicker: “With 7200 RPM spin speed, 16 MB cache, and capacities up to 320 GB, the drive offers the best of both worlds: the capacity and performance of a desktop PC with the convenience and portability of a notebook.”
