HP recently announced the appointment of Frank van Rees as Managing Director and Enterprise Business Lead for HP South Africa.

Van Rees, who starts in his new role on January 1, 2010, will lead the country management team and will be responsible for driving the HP Enterprise Business in South Africa. He will report to Santiago Cortes, Managing Director and Vice President Enterprise Business HP Middle East, Mediterranean & Africa (MEMA).

Van Rees is an experienced manager who has held several leadership roles in IT services, sales and marketing in the Netherlands, Eastern Europe and the Caribbean. His experience and in-depth understanding of the IT industry, customer requirements and HP’s global capabilities will bring the expertise and knowledge to South Africa that is needed to grow the business profitably.

Van Rees joined HP Netherlands in 2005 as HP Services Director and was then appointed as Enterprise Business Lead for HP in the Netherlands. Prior to HP, he was Sales and Marketing Director for Synstar Netherlands, which is now part of HP.

“We are delighted that we have such a highly talented business leader like Frank van Rees leading our business in South Africa” said Santiago Cortes.

His excellent leadership skills and track-record will help to drive future growth in South Africa.  His strong customer and people focus and his experience in the IT services business make him an excellent fit for this role,” Cortes continues.

Van Rees succeeds Gois Fouche, who was Managing Director HP South Africa on an interim basis. Fouche will continue in her role as Financial Controller for HP South Africa.
