WD My Passport Essential SE Portable Drives

Drive Control Corporation (DCC) has introduced Western Digital’s (WD) new one terabyte (TB) and 750 gigabyte (GB) capacity WD My Passport Essential SE Portable USB Drives. The new drives put massive storage capacity in the palm of your hand while offering continuous backup and password protection for secure data storage and come in a sleek black colour.

Perfect for saving, storing and backing up all of the digital memories captured this summer, the new 1 TB and 750 GB capacity WD My Passport Essential SE drives are light and compact to carry and, because they are USB-powered, they do not need an external power adapter. Equipped with WD Smartware, this small drive, with mega-capacity, makes it easy to securely carry thousands of songs or videos or photos.

WD Smartware software allows consumers to watch their backup as it happens with the visual backup display. Additionally, WD Smartware activates automatic, continuous backup creating a second copy of the data stored on the drive as soon as it is changed, ensuring the consumers’ data is secure.

Consumers are also able to customise their backup, set drive safety, run diagnostics, manage power settings and more from the WD Smartware control centre. Should owners misplace the drive, they know their data is protected with military grade 256-bit encryption.

“The enormous capacity of these new WD My Passport Essential SE drives makes them the perfect travel-friendly storage device to hold all the rich media content generated by higher resolution photos and HD videos and music,” said Vassen Naicker, WD product specialist at DCC. “Carrying digital files close at hand continues to be a growing consumer interest and this new drive offers a sleek and stylish solution with plenty of storage capacity for people on the move.”

The WD My Passport Essential SE drives are perfect for storing important files and e-mails between work or home, and keeping the files in sync.
