Verbatim High-end portable HDDs

Appealing to high-end markets, Drive Control Corporation (DCC) is now delivering Verbatim’s Executive Portable Hard Drive and SureFire Portable Hard Drive, both external 2.5″ hard drives with a storage capacity of 500GB.

Three software programs pre-loaded on the Verbatim Executive hard drive deliver increased data transfer speeds, synchronisation of data and folders, and backup functionality.

Janse van Rensburg, Verbatim product specialist at DCC, “Equipped with USB turbo speed software, Verbatim’s new Executive achieves up to 25 per cent faster read and write speeds than conventional external hard drives with a USB connection. This is made possible thanks to optimised compression of the data during transfer.”

The Verbatim Sync software on the Executive helps organise all files: it reliably synchronises Microsoft Outlook or Windows Mail contacts and calendar entries, as well as other files, photos and videos from the PC or laptop. Consequently, information can be accessed anywhere, allowing users to carry on working wherever they are. 128-bit AES encryption also enables data to be encrypted and secured with a password to protect it against unauthorised access.

The Verbatim Executive also comes with Nero BackItUp 4 Essentials for reliable backups. It does not require any external power pack, since its USB 2.0 interface provides all the power it needs.

The Executive drive comes with a free black carry pouch which protects the exclusive black rubber coating of the drive during transportation and is available in midnight blue and arctic white from DCC.

The Verbatim SureFire Portable Hard Drive is a versatile external hard drive featuring high-performance storage and a choice of FireWire 800 or USB 2.0 interfaces.

This rugged drive was engineered with FireWire 800 technology to radically increase data transfer speed. The hard drive comes pre-formatted for immediate use with Apple Macintosh computers running Mac OS. It is formatted HFS+ and ready to use with Time Machine.

The SureFire Hard Drive has a tough aluminium casing, providing durability when on-the-go. It also comes with a protective carry case for even more safe storage.
