Verbatim’s new Pocket Drive, a 250GB portable 1.8″ Hard Disk Drive is now available from Drive Control Corporation (DCC). Cased in an attractive black aluminium housing and weighing just 85g, it’s small enough to slip easily into a purse, a trouser or jacket pocket. It is thus ideal for anyone who must regularly carry large volumes of data with them and who wants a storage device that is reliable, easy to carry and stylish.

The 250GB-drive will store the equivalent of 113,636 photos, 62,500 MP3 music files or 500 videos. That’s a lot  of data and Verbatim ensures its secured with pre-installed backup and synchronisation software.

The Dmailer backup software with data encryption is used for backups while the Verbatim Sync software allows data to be synchronised with ease between, , for instance, a home PC and the external hard drive. The Sync software works with files of all types and provides synchronisation of mail boxes and website details such as ‘favourites’ saved in the Browser.

The Pocket Drive is compatible with the Windows 7, Vista and XP operating systems. A reassuring blue LED light on the front of the drive is illuminated when data is being transferred.
