LCD monitor with built-in people sensor
Official South African distributor, Drive Control Corporation (DCC) is now delivering the world’s first LCD monitor with a ‘people sensor’, the Green Philips 225B (22 inches) with PowerSensor technology to the South African channel.
Marking an important milestone in monitor energy-saving advancement, the Philips PowerSensor technology detects user presence and adjusts power consumption accordingly to reduce energy usage by up to 50 percent.
Ideal for businesses which feature a number of LCD monitors or the energy-conscious consumer, PowerSensor is essentially a built-in ‘people sensor’ that transmits and receives harmless infrared signals to determine if a user is present, automatically reducing monitor brightness when user steps away from the desk, therefore cutting energy costs and prolonging monitor life.
“Philips PowerSensor technology undoubtedly represents an important breakthrough in the development and manufacture of monitors that offer real power saving features. As the first of its kind in the world, the technology provides users with that peace of mind that they are saving power in the effective and unobtrusive way possible,” comments Bruce Byrne, Visual Communications Specialist at DCC.
The Green Philips 225B is also packed with additional features such as TrueVision, Philips’ testing and algorithm technology for monitor adjustment and fine tuning, ensuring a display performance in compliance with a standard four-times more stringent than Microsoft’s Vista requirements.
Additionally, Philips technology SmartImage analyses the content displayed on the screen and based on this information dynamically enhances the contrast, colour saturation and sharpness of images and videos.
The Green Philips 225B also incorporates the following features:
. Built-in stereo audio – a pair of high-quality stereo speakers built into a display device;
. Screen tilt and swivel – a mechanism built into the base permits the monitor to swivel and tilt backward or forward;
. Height adjustable stand for perfect viewing position; and
. 2 lamp, low wattage (20w power usage).
