HP Pavilion Entertainment notebook range

The new HP Pavilion Entertainment Notebook range is now available from official South African distributor, Drive Control Corporation (DCC).

Targeted at the higher end consumer market, the range is ideal for gamers and those who regularly enjoy rich entertainment experiences.

Says Yugen Naidoo, Retail Manager at DCC, “Entertainment capabilities have become one of the major factors influencing the purchasing decisions of consumers. The HP Entertainment Notebook range offers an exciting array of choice – for those that want something light and affordable that they can carry around easily, to the more serious entertainment user, who wants all the bells and whistles needed for an optimum gaming or viewing experience”.

The Pavilion dm3 series strikes the perfect balance between performance and size; with low voltage processors providing up to 10 hours of battery life, optional discrete graphics to deliver added performance, and a 13.3-inch HD LED HP BrightView Widescreen Display. For the rigorous entertainment user, the dm3 functions as a portable entertainment centre for everything from watching videos on the HD screen, transporting music and movies on the generous HDD, or staying in touch via WLAN (or optional WWAN) and built-in webcam and microphones.

The Pavilion Entertainment Notebooks dv6 series features a 15.6-inch screen, making it a perfect alternative to a desktop PC. At the same time, it offers a portable entertainment experience, featuring Blu-ray, premium audio and dual headphone jacks, and an integrated webcam. It provides a secure user experience, with HP ProtectSmart, which automatically detects if the notebook has been dropped and automatically stops the hard drive from spinning before it hits the floor – preventing the loss of files and data.

For those seeking an even more immersive viewing experience, the Pavilion dv7 series, with its 17.3- inch 16:9 backlit LED screen is ideal. The dv7 series also features powerful graphics, optional TV tuners, remote controls and premium audio. Staying connected through social networks is a cinch with the integrated low-light webcam, dual digital microphones and broadband. The dv7 simplifies security with an optional fingerprint reader and password management capabilities.

Says Anamika Budree, HP PSG Business Unit Manager at DCC, “The new HP Entertainment Notebook range reflects the current desires of consumers, and the evolution of the Notebook to a single-point destination for music, movies, TV programmes, photos, Skype conversations, chat, and social networking.  The range comes preloaded with HP MediaSmart Software, which makes managing all this content fast and easy. All three series also feature an energy-efficient, mercury-free backlit LED display that is environmentally-friendly”.

The Pavillion Entertainment Notebook range will undoubtedly be catching many a consumer’s eye with its impressive aesthetics -whether it is the slim edgy aluminium finish of the Pavilion dm3 model, or the new Imprint designs featured on the dv6 and dv7 models. The dm3’s finish is eye-catching and durable, and the dv6 and dv7 series offer a choice between two Imprint designs: Espresso, a glossy black finish with a discreet circular pattern, or Moonlight, a subtle pattern of cool grey flowing lines on a white background.
