VMware committed to Africa
VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), the global leader in virtualisation solutions from the desktop through the datacentre and to the cloud, has re-affirmed its commitment to South Africa and the African market. The company, which first established its presence in South Africa in 2006 at rented Regus offices and just 2 staff members, is now a firmly established company boasting its own offices and a growing staff compliment.
Chris Norton, VMware regional director for southern Africa says, “Since we first opened our office in South Africa, VMware has been wholly committed to meeting local customers’ needs and as a result has seen exceptional growth within the market. This is partly attributed to the quality of the products that we sell but also to our growing team that is dedicated to providing solutions that are specifically designed to meet our customers’ needs. I believe that the team is firmly positioned to take the company from strength to strength in South Africa and across the African continent.”
“The adoption of technology in Africa is rapidly increasing; this coupled with the launch of the SEACOM Cable makes Africa a continent with unlimited potential. VMware is excited to be a part of this process and is committed to enabling the uptake of technology, so that the continent can compete globally,” concluded Chris.
