Port from Telkom to Neotel with Nashua Mobile and save on your phone bill
Independent telecommunications service provider, Nashua Mobile, is ready to help any Telkom customers that wish to port their numbers to Neotel with immediate effect.
Some customers could achieve monthly cost savings of between 14% and 27% by switching from Neotel to Telkom – and now they can retain their existing fixed-line numbers when they make the move.
This follows Icasa’s implementation of the geographic number portability (GNP) process for individual customers as from 26 April 2010. This means that individual customers and small businesses can enjoy the benefits of GNP.
Commercial customers have been able to port their numbers between fixed-line providers since 18 May 2009, when GNP came into effect for blocks of 1,000 and 10,000 numbers.
Says Chris Scoble, managing director at Nashua Mobile: “We’re excited to be able to offer the benefits of GNP to all of our customers with immediate effect. Neotel has a very competitive offering, including some of the best rates in South Africa for on-net (Neotel to Neotel calls), and customers can now make the switch without the inconvenience of losing their phone numbers.”
Numbers starting with 01x, 02x, 03x, 04x, 05x and 01102xx can be ported with immediate effect, while 0861 and 087 numbers cannot currently be ported. The turnaround time for a number port will be five working days if the port is approved and the service is free.
Clients can initiate the process by sending a request to Nashua Mobile to port their number to Neotel, along with their Neotel application form and accompanying documents, latest Telkom account, and a copy of their ID.
