APC promotes Paolo Miglietta to VP: Southern Africa

APC by Schneider Electric, a global leader in critical power and cooling services, has announced the appointment of Paolo Miglietta as vice president of Southern Africa. Miglietta is set to replace Rodney Callaghan, the company’s previous MD for Southern Africa, who has joined APC’s Middle Eastern team as the vice president for United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Gulf.

Miglietta reports to Christian Bertrand, who was recently appointed as vice president for the Middle East and Africa, following a decision by APC to merge the Middle East, Turkey and Africa as one region of responsibility. Prior to Miglietta’s promotion, he was the company’s regional channel manager for Africa, the Ocean Islands and the South Caribbean.

According to Bertrand, “We are delighted to have Paolo leading APC’s business in the Southern African region where he will continue to foster open and ongoing communication with our local stakeholders, in particular our customers, partners and employees, supporting their needs from the desktop to the data centre to the factory floor. With ultimate responsibility for the complete care of our customers, Paolo will ensure APC continues to create delighted customers through the delivery of the industry’s most comprehensive solution and service offering and a focus on the specific needs of the Southern African marketplace.”

Miglietta started his career at American Power Conversion (APC) in 2002 as Inside Sales representative for Italy, Spain Portugal and France while based in Galway, Ireland and Reliability Partner Provider (RPP) responsible for APC’s Italian office. He has also held the titles of channel account manager for Southern Africa and territory manager for East Africa at APC.

Bertrand maintains that Miglietta is the ideal candidate for the vice president: Southern Africa position, owing to his first-rate product knowledge, his previous working experience within multinational ICT companies, his high level of negotiation experience including problem solving abilities, as well as his history in terms of the management of channel business and teams.
