HP Compaq 8100 Elite desktop

Keeping trend with global efforts to improve computing energy efficiency without compromising on performance, Drive Control Corporation (DCC) has released HP’s Compaq 8100 Elite Desktop PC which feature 89 percent energy-efficient power supplies and is EPEAT (Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool) registered and ENERGY STAR certified.

The HP Compaq 8100 Elite PC series also supports energy-saving technologies on some models such as solid state hard drives (SSDs) and offers HP power-management solutions that help support lower energy usage and costs.

Additionally power supplies are rated 80 PLUS Gold which essentially certifies products that have more than 80% energy efficiency at 20%, 50% and 100% of rated load, and a power factor of 0.9 or greater at 100% load.

A key differentiator of the HP Compaq 8100 Elite Desktop PC is that whilst it drives down energy usage it continues to provide high-end performance, incorporating Intel’s Q57 Express chipset and Core i Processors Families that offer faster, multi-core processing that intelligently maximises performance to match workloads.

Moreover, options of Intel Core i7, Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i3 processors allow for the correct HP Compaq 8100 Elite PC to be placed determined by the processing power required to complete a function.

“A desktop that offers blistering speed and performance coupled with major energy-efficient represents computing of the future.  Indeed, with the Compaq 8100 Elite Desktop, you can enjoy the benefits of ultimate processing while knowing that you are also contributing to global efforts to reduce power usage,” comments Anamika Budree, HP PSG Business Unit Manager at DCC.

“The HP Compaq Elite 8100 should be a must-have in all our partners’ product portfolios as it provides a real solution to today’s technology total cost of ownership dilemma faced by big-business while still incorporating great technologies like Intel’s latest processors, solid state drive options, and vPro which assists with remote management,” says Deon Botha, HP Product Specialist at DCC.

The Compaq Elite 8100 offers an array of remote management technologies that enables users to operational costs in the form of maintenance while keeping their IT investments well maintained and updated from a central location.

These technologies are easy to deploy; plus manageability is further enhanced with Intel Core processors with vPro Technology.

Adds Botha, “Intel vPro, for example, is a combination of processor technologies, hardware enhancements, management features, and security technologies that allow remote access to the PC – including monitoring, maintenance, and management – independently of the state of the operating system (OS) or power state of the PC.”

The desktop is also protected with HP ProtectTools security software that secures hardware, software, firmware, and OS, providing infrastructure protection allowing users to focus on their business, not their points of vulnerability.
