Microsoft boosts midmarket drive with TCM
Microsoft South Africa has boosted its aggressive drive into the midmarket by unveiling Midrand-based systems integrator and solutions provider TCM as the newest addition to its large account reseller (LAR) channel.
Announcing the deal at Microsoft’s Partner Summit at Sun City today, Microsoft SA managing director Mteto Nyati said TCM’s focus on the midmarket made it “a perfect fit” for both companies.
“We’ve identified the midmarket as a key focus for our business going forward. This is an area with tremendous growth potential in South Africa, and it’s entirely appropriate that we forge alliances with the best partners in this space,” said Nyati.
TCM, which is also a major IBM and HP partner, has been in business since 1987. It focuses on corporate clients (in the financial, public and utilities sectors) and commercial clients, primarily within the pharmaceutical, wholesale, retail and industrial sectors.
TCM director Iqbal Hassim said the new partnership would allow TCM to provide a stronger range of solutions to its growing customer base, and help grow the market for both companies.
“TCM has a strong image in the marketplace for being a strong services company and solutions partner, and being a Microsoft partner will only underpin that reputation. This partnership will focus strongly on developing new skills, and reaffirm TCM’s identity as a trendsetting company offering turnkey solutions,” said Hassim.
Microsoft defines a LAR as a Microsoft-appointed reseller focused on midmarket and bigger clients, which can provide licensing, solutions, deployment and support and the ability to invest in ongoing skills development.
