BlackBerry Travel App Now Available in South Africa

BlackBerry Travel, a new app that provides BlackBerry smartphone users with an all-in-one integrated and contextual experience that makes it easy to plan, book, manage and share travel activities, is now available in South Africa.

Find hotel options, without having to browse different sources. When you make a booking, the automatic trip scanning feature automatically pulls in details from itineraries that are emailed to you – no matter where you booked.

It can also identify gaps – like a hotel stay that ends a night earlier than it should – and provide you with suggestions. And if your flight’s delayed or your connection changes, you’ll know about it early on: the app uses the BlackBerry push technology to alert you to important changes so you don’t have to go looking for them.

With tools like a currency converter, 5-day weather forecast for your destination and more, you’ll be well-prepared, even for multi-leg journeys.

Sharing your upcoming travel plans with colleagues, friends and family is easy too – the app helps you do it by email or over LinkedIn.

The LinkedIn integration allows you to search for people in your network who will be in the same city, send messages to contacts and update your status.

The BlackBerry Travel app also features a web portal that allows you to book flights and car rentals, as well as print and edit itineraries, from your computer.
