Powertech achieves a level 3 BBBEE contributor status

Power Technologies (Pty) Ltd (Powertech), a wholly owned subsidiary of the JSE-listed Allied Electronics Group (Altron), announces that it has successfully been audited by the independent BBBEE accreditor, Empowerdex, securing the status of a level 3 BBBEE contributor.

This is equivalent to an AA rating in terms of the dti Codes of Good Practice. This marks a further milestone in Powertech’s commitment towards South African workplace transformation.

The certificate was issued on end of April 2011 and reflects the contribution of the underlying subsidiaries’ individual scores.

Norbert Claussen, CEO Powertech, says “we are very proud of becoming a leader in the industry. Our level 3 contributor status, allows our customers to claim 110 percent of procurement spend for their own BBBEE score. It further shows the dedication of our Group towards transforming the South African economy. In light of the fierce international competition, Powertech’s level 3 contributor status will give local manufacturing a much welcomed boost.”
