MTN Ghana receives Africa’s top CSR accolade
MTN Ghana was honoured with the Africa Corporate Responsibility Award in recognition of its Corporate Social Responsibility activities, especially its education programmes.
Coming just a few days before today’s start of the annual MTN 21 Days of Y’ello Care, MTN’s flagship employee volunteering CSR programme, the award spotlights not only on the work being done by MTN Ghana, but should serves as an acknowledgement of MTN’s community work across its footprint.
The award comes on the back of MTN Ghana winning the MTN 21 Days of Y’ello Care in 2010. Furthermore, MTN Ghana recently scooped a hat-trick of awards at the inaugural Mobileworld Ghana Telecoms Awards 2011 for its contribution to the development of the telecoms industry in Ghana.
In receiving this honour, MTN joins a list of past honourees such as President Nelson Mandela, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, President Bill Clinton, Miriam Makeba, Stevie Wonder and President Abdoulaye Wade.
