MTN reduces roaming rates im New Zealand

This promotion is part of MTN’s continuous drive at enhancing customer experience and giving its subscribers value for money.

The promotion will apply to internet, SMS, local and international voice calls and runs from September 1 to 31 October 2011.

Says Serame Taukobong, MTN South Africa Chief Marketing Officer: “MTN is cognisant of the needs of its customers and continuously seeks to respond to their requirements to enhance their experience. This promotion aims to give consumers more confidence whilst roaming during the tournament.”

The promotion will be available at all MTN service shops and partner stores.

During the tournament, customers can expect to pay R7.00 (including VAT) for making international calls back home, down from the current retail rate of R23.50 and local calls down from R7.50 to R5.00 (including VAT).

Customers will pay R0.25 per 25 kilobyte of data which is R10.24 per megabyte for the duration of the promotion, compared to the current retail rate of R4.00 for the same amount of data.

Roaming customers will pay R1.50 (including VAT) for sending an SMS, down from the current retail rate of R2.00 and receiving SMSs will be free.
