Samsung to Inspire the Future of Innovation and Technology at 2012 Samsung Africa Forum hosted in Cape Town

New products and technologies bring Samsung’s 2012 strategy to life

Cape Town is preparing to host the 2012 Samsung Africa Forum, a four-day spectacular where Samsung showcases the latest innovations across all of its product categories including audio visual and home appliances, mobile phones, digital cameras and IT solutions. The strategy behind the Africa Forum is geared to allow consumers, business partners and associates, media and government as well as consumers to experience the brand and appreciate the company’s leadership position both locally and across Africa.

Showcasing Samsung’s Comprehensive Product Portfolio
“As one of the largest and most comprehensive product showcases in Africa, we are certainly very excited to host our 3rd annual Samsung Africa Forum and share the company’s strategy to expand the African market and deliver connectivity and content across multiple devices and product portfolios,” said George Ferreira, Vice President and COO of Samsung Electronics Africa. “More than ever, consumers are leading dynamic lifestyles that require technology to enrich their lives and Samsung are looking to achieve this through new product innovations, continued investment in research and development, and by driving corporate and social responsibility programs in the broader African region.”

Inspiring new directions
The Forum will be taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from the 22nd March to 25th and will focus on demonstrating new technologies that inspire new directions and that are built on the felt needs and demands of the people across the African continent.

“The digital age has brought revolutionary change – and opportunity – to African business, and Samsung as a result has responded with advanced technologies, competitive products, and constant innovation to meet this change. We are certainly excited about the future and as we build on our previous accomplishments, we look forward to exploring new territories, maintaining innovative standards and of course delivering on what our customers expect from us – world-class products adapted for the local market in 2012,” said Ferreira.

Connecting Cape Town
In addition to the formal partner days, the Samsung Africa Forum will also feature an open public event, Samsung Connect Cape Town, for consumers on the last day of the conference – 25 March – to give consumers first-hand exposure to the latest innovative technology products from Samsung and insight into key trends within the consumer electronics space. The key technologies and products Samsung will showcase will closely match the products showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas during January this year. Aside from Samsung’s Smart Technology, which ensures easy and flexible connectivity for all its products, Samsung will also announce new products for South Africa.

The Samsung Connect Cape Town event will deliver the ultimate connection between music, technology, lifestyle and people. Bringing the latest smart technology to life, Samsung will immerse consumers in live music performances, from the likes of Tumi and the Volume, Aking and Auriol Hays, art shows by Michael Edwards and Julian Goldswain and international chef demos to show how technology can enhance how we live, work and play. Additionally, there will be a T-shirt design printing area where consumers can get selected designs from artist, Jaco Haasbroek, printed out.

Samsung Connect Cape Town will expose people to the future of technology innovation in an uniquely entertaining way. Entry into the Samsung Connect Cape Town event is free.
