G-Technology exhibits its G-RAID with Thunderbolt at NAB

External storage specialist G-Technology – represented in South Africa by leading ICT distributor, Syntech SA – will take advantage of
the National Association of Broadcasting (NAB) expo, the leading digital media show to be held in Las Vegas, USA, from 16th April, by exhibiting its much-vaunted G-RAID with Thunderbolt.

The G-RAID with Thunderbolt comes in 4TB, 6TB and 8TB capacities and packs two 3.5″ drives at 7200RPM each as single 2TB, 3TB or 4TB drives. The RAID 0 and Thunderbolt combo allows for crazy-fast data transfer rates. Daisy-chaining multiple drives together offers even more speed potential, said Ryan Martyn, a director of Cape-based Syntech SA.

He said G-Technology will also be exhibiting the G-Connect, a wireless storage solution for the iPad and iPhone.

Martyn said it includes a 500GB hard drive with both WiFi and Gigabit ethernet network connectivity. The device allows you to share a single internet connection among multiple users (e.g., hotel room), or works as a media server to a customer’s wireless devices as well.

Syntech, established in 2002, offers a wide range of product lines and has become recognised for its focus on professional storage and memory with high performance products such as Patriot, ATTO, OCZ, Sonnet, G-Technology and Rocstor. These products are specifically imported to service media rich environments including clients within the film and production, photography and architectural industries.
