Mindjet appoints new MEA channel manager following global channel success
Collaborative work management provider, Mindjet has appointed Bruce Skjolde as the new channel manager for its MEA & Emerging Markets regions, covering South Africa, the Middle East, Iceland and Ireland.
This move forms part of the company’s strategy to further strengthen its channel focus, following solid growth in the channel in 2011, with 19 percent increase in its core European markets. The Netherlands and the Nordics boasted a growth of 27 percent and 22 percent respectively, followed by the UK at 12 percent.
Skjolde’s appointment is part of a greater Mindjet team expansion, which includes the recruitment of three other channel managers for its NEWS region (focusing on the UK, Nordics and the Netherlands). He has spent the last seven years operating within the channel, working not only for a number of global hardware and software vendors, but also running his own channel enablement company for two years.
Skjolde is using his focused approach and experience in both sales and channel management to develop customer relationships and to ensure that adequate support and training is provided to promote growth in the region.
In addition, Alexis Gorton joins Mindjet as the UK channel manager and will be responsible for driving the region to achieve its growth rate targets. Gorton previously worked at Noble Security Group, managing OEM sales, channel sales and sales operations for EMEA. Prior to Noble, Gorton was at Dell for 11 years in various roles, most recently selling and project managing hardware and software deployments into large corporate and public sector accounts.
Jeroen Van Der Lugt is responsible for the channel in the Netherlands and Luxembourg, being based in the former. He brings more than 15 years of channel experience to the team, including 10 years at security specialist RSA. Van Der Lugt will look to identify, develop and support the channel partners to optimise the revenue in the region.
Frida Nystedt joins Mindjet as channel manager in the Nordics later this month after holding the same position at Mimecast and, prior to this, also working as sales and account manager at both Symantec and McAfee. Based in the UK, she brings a wealth of IT sales and channel experience to the team and will be using her drive and track record of success to maximise Mindjet’s performance in this area.
Says Chris Harman, regional vice president for the UK and Ireland, Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa at Mindjet: “2011 was an important year for us having continued to sustain multiple years of high growth, announced major product launches and affirmed our mobile offering to help companies and their teams work smarter together.
“It is testament to the dedication and expertise of our channel partners that we have been successful in carrying this through. The channel is very important to us and the addition of four new members to our channel team will ensure we continue supporting our partners in growing their own businesses and achieving continued success together with Mindjet in 2012.”
This success in the channel follows Mindjet announcing more than 20 percent overall global growth last year – with new product releases bringing in over one million mobile users and taking the number of paying customers to over two million.
