DCC scoops yet another distributor award – this time from Huawei Symantec

Drive Control Corporation (DCC) was recently honoured with the Huawei Symantec Outstanding Achievement in Storage 2011 award for the distributor that generated the largest part of Huawei Symantec’s storage revenue in 2011. This accolade follows the two APC awards DCC also won earlier this month as: Distributor of the year; and Best Business Development Partner of the year.

Says Raul Del Fabbro, Storage Division Manager at DCC: “This recognition is a reflection of the dedication and focus involved from DCC.  Our resellers too played a significant role in us being able to achieve this accolade as they were our extended sales force.  Furthermore, the quality and service that the Huawei Symantec brand is synonymous with, allowing us to proactively promote this product to the market.”

Lauren Fan, president of Huawei Enterprise Group: East and Southern Africa region comments: “DCC earned the honour of being the top distributor for our storage products. They have been a distributor from the time Huawei Symantec was launched in 2009, because they have a good fit with our product set as well as a strong reseller base. This award recognises their efforts in creating a high demand for Huawei’s storage products in South Africa.”

This event, held at Al Fiume, on the banks of the Hennops River, served as the vendor’s official announcement and launch of the Huawei Enterprise Group to its resellers and distributors. The channel strategy for the coming year, as well as upcoming products were also shared with the attendees.

“Our channel strategy is specifically designed as a win-win model, where our products and solutions will be distributed through channels. We will offer a standardised product and solutions to our partners and will support them in expanding their businesses. Our position is very clear: that we and the partner are in a partnership, not in a competitive relationship.’ Says Fan

According to Fan the merger will enable Huawei to integrate Huawei Symantec’s innovative storage and security technologies with Huawei’s products and provide more competitive and comprehensive ICT solutions, under the Huawei Enterprise brand.

Adds Fan: “With the merger of Huawei Symantec into Huawei Enterprise, we now have a full set of products that can compete in all areas of the marketplace, which in turn will also expand DCC’s business scope.”

“We are motivated to outperform our 2011 results and look forward to working together with the new Huawei Enterprise Group to achieve this during 2012,” says Del Fabbro.
