Real IRM offers ArchiMate Certification training for enterprise architecture professionals

Enterprise Architecture specialist Real IRM has wasted no time in scheduling its first ArchiMate 2.0 certification training courses following its recent achievement of becoming Africa’s first accredited training centre on the international modelling standard.

ArchiMate 2.0 is The Open Group’s open and independent standard for Enterprise Architecture (EA). It provides instruments to enable enterprise architects to unambiguously describe, analyse, and visualise the relationships among business domains. ArchiMate also offers a common language for describing the construction and operation of business processes, organisational structures, information flows, IT systems, and technical infrastructure.

Company CEO Stuart Macgregor says this coursework adds to the EA curriculum already offered by Real IRM. This begins with an EA Boot Camp, which equips delegates with the foundational knowledge. Additional courses available cover everything from data and process modeling, Service Oriented architecture and The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) .

But he declares that the ability to offer ArchiMate training  is a signficant achievement. ““The ability to provide ArchiMate certification uniquely positions our organisation to provide  training suitable for practicing enterprise architects,” he remarks. Only 6 organisations worldwide are accredited to provide this training; by wasting no time in certifying our course instructors, we’re giving local enterprise architects the opportunity to keep abreast of their global colleagues.”

The two-day course is designed to ensure that delegates are fully conversant with and knowledgeable on ArchiMate. All aspects of the standard are discussed, including the ArchiMate meta-model, language structure, viewpoints and language extensions. Examples and exercises are used throughout the course to make the theory practical.

Delegates are provided with the ArchiMate 2.0 book and certification exam vouchers as part of their course fees. Taking the certification exam is optional and can be done at Real IRM’s exam centre when the individual candidate is ready.

ArchiMate training is suitable for enterprise architects, Information Architects, Technology Architects, Application Architects, System Integrators, Business Analysts and Process Modellers.

Macgregor says delegates completing the course will understand the structure and meta-model of the ArchiMate language and will be able to identify and use the appropriate ArchiMate viewpoints when modelling.

ArchiMate 2.0 Certification Training is taking place in Midrand on 6 August, 10 September and 26 November 2012.  For more information contact Carla Bell at Real IRM on 011 805 3734 or email [email protected].
