EOH and Abacus DIVISIONS set up a fibre optic testing facility at Route 21 Corporate Park

The JSE listed technology group, EOH Network Solutions, and property and management company, Abacus DIVISIONS, are currently setting up a fibre optic testing facility at  Route 21 Corporate Park, Irene.

Abacus DIVISIONS is one of the primary property developers at Route 21 Corporate Park.

Org Geldenhuys, managing director of Abacus DIVISIONS, said: “We set up a testing facility to ‘show and tell’ people – and tenants – the benefits and speed of fibre Internet connectivity.”

He said the testing facility is a “first” for the office park, although fibre was installed at Route 21 two years ago, making it one of the first office parks in Pretoria to boast a fully-fledged open access dark fibre solution.

Geldenhuys said that downtime during the last 12 months has been “almost zero” compared to previous situations when companies were left high and dry waiting for service “from the competitors”.

“We also see opportunities opening for multinationals and big corporate wanting to move here as a result of the fibre and enhanced connectivity – on top of the other benefits Route 21 offers, such as ease of access and security. We are now in a position to offer the appropriate infrastructure for companies requiring high speed Internet, data centres, call centres and disaster recovery sites.”

The office park is already home to the likes of EOH, Landrover Jaguar, Volvo, JSE-listed Ctrack, BAE Systems, Brother and Eskort.
