ARTbid achieves monthly double digit growth since April launch
Pioneering online art auction platform, ARTbid (www.ARTbid.co.za) -which has come up with a world-first concept that sees the company offering artists a no-charge platform to display and auction their art to an international audience – said the number of visits to its site had increased by more than 30% month-on-month since April.
Visitor Registrations have more than doubled during May and June after the site went live in April, said founder and current CEO , Suzannè Böhme. “We are seeing a fantastically growing level of interest in terms of visitor numbers, and in terms of from which countries these visits originate.”
She said the site is notching up increasing visits from over 170 countries, including Thailand, Iran, the Philippines, Pakistan, Kenya, UK, Indonesia, India, Egypt and Vietnam.
“We are signing on new artists every day and believe this is a golden opportunity for artists, whether established or not, to reach a global audience.” One of the many advantages of exhibiting on ARTbid is that participants get their own web page – and they can feature a profile and examples of their artworks, without being charged a cent. Artists are only charged when there is an actual sale – and then it is just a nominal commission.
“ARTbid also extensively markets the artists who make use of its platform and manage the entire sales process – an aspect most artists struggle with.”
Bohme, an artist herself, said emerging artists needed more support and exposure – and one way to achieve this is to move their artworks online via an international portal, like ARTbid.
