2face, AY, Papa Wemba and Daddy Owen to take the stage at closing ceremony of Airtel Rising Stars tournament

Kenyan music lovers are in for an entertainment treat this weekend as top African artistes prepare for a pan-African music extravaganza to be held Nairobi’s City Stadium. The high profile concert, to be held on Saturday, will bring the largest pan-African youth football tournament to an end following the final game of the Airtel Rising Stars Championship (http://www.airtel.com).

The concert will begin at 2 p.m. and plans to boast some of the continent’s most loved artistes including Nigerian artist 2face, Tanzanian rapper AY, Congolese crooner Papa Wemba and Kenyan gospel artist Daddy Owen.

The Championship – which kicked off on Monday – is part of the Airtel Rising Stars program, a soccer talent initiative that has focused on identifying and nurturing soccer talent from the grassroots onto a national stage. It will culminate in an invite-only party at Nairobi’s prestigious Carnivore nightclub celebrating the launch of 2face’s most soulful  album yet: Away and Beyond.
