Securing cloud computing environments, private and public for the enterprise

The anticipated 3rd annual Cloud and Virtualisation Africa Summit will be held at the Hilton Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg, from 10 to 11 October 2012. The event is hosted by international business-to-business conferencing company, Kinetic Events.

Virtualised data centres are evolving at a rapid rate to support private cloud computing models, with workloads becoming conveniently mobile, challenging traditional static security models is becoming inevitable. Increasingly, organisations are extending their virtualised data centres to innovative public cloud infrastructures, further challenging modern and competitive security architectures.

The event will allow senior decision-makers to determine the level of cloud computing engagement appropriate for them and how cloud technology can be deployed alongside existing static deployments of hardware and software. The format of the event is a combination of workshops, focused business meetings and interactive CIO-led keynote sessions. The workshops are interactive and focused on meeting cloud computing business needs while connecting senior IT decision makers.

The summit will allow industry experts to engage, collaborate and develop new strategies and best practices for their business, and how these technologies can be effectively positioned alongside existing solutions. The event will prompt topical debate featuring expert-led workshops and discussions by IT industry thought leaders including Nardus Breitenbach, Global Chief Technology Architect for Standard Bank, and Alec Davis, Chief Information Officer at Growthpoint Properties LTD.
