Support rolls in for rAge

NAG Magazine’s rAge expo will take Africa’s gaming community to a whole new level!

This year’s Really AWESOME Gaming Expo, rAge, is not only set to be an epic extravaganza of digital delights and wonders but bigger and better than ever before, featuring the tenth annual NAG LAN. This adrenaline-infused event will see 53 hours of nail biting competition as 2 540 gamers hook up to one network with one goal in sight: to take each other down.

Organised and managed by NAG Magazine, the country’s leading gaming, computer and technology magazine, this year’s NAG LAN is captivating and interactive entertainment at its best. Designed by the experts in this field, rAge speaks to the heart of every techno-junkie and gamer out there.

What’s more is that the NAG LAN this year is brought to you by Corex – one of the strongest names in B2C distribution – who are once again showing their support for the fast paced environment of competitive gaming. With statistics from the GFK Group, a local market research company, showing that South Africa’s video gaming market is currently at about R1.72 billion, this is a rapidly developing sector where sponsors like Corex as well as organisers like NAG Magazine aim to provide a rich platform that does local gaming justice. The annual NAG LAN @ rAge is the biggest gaming LAN in Southern Africa.

With tickets for NAG LAN selling out in just under an hour, it promises to bring gamers an event of a lifetime. BT Games has also come on board to deliver quality sponsorship for the LANners. South Africa’s largest gaming specialist store will be giving each NAG LAN ticket holder a BT Games Voucher which entitles them to R100 off of a purchase of R300 or more for any game bought at their stand at the expo.

“rAge is a very important event for us. We have had great fun putting together great specials for our customers and this year will be no different as we continue to grow and become the destination store for hard-core gamers, casual gamers and even families. rAge has become a great family show, “ says Karl Klöpfer , marketing manager at BT Games.

Also showing their support for this year’s NAG LAN @ rAge are Internet sponsors Afrihost. Afrihost, a company dedicated to delivering Internet Solutions, will be spoiling all rAge attendees this year by giving each and every visitor to rAge a free ADSL Broadband voucher. They will also be doing fantastic and exciting giveaways of items like gaming consoles, console games, mini desk fridges, branded goods and much, much more. Tyler Theron from Afrihost says, “We hope to show the gaming community that we are committed to them as well as just showcasing our brand.”

With a host of Really Awesome sponsors like Corex, BT Games, Intel (who are supplying all the servers for the LAN), HP Networking, D-Link and Afrihost, as well as organisers like NAG Magazine, this year’s NAG LAN is a recipe for a feast of gaming and technology. The tenth annual rAge expo will run from 5-7 October 2012 at the Coca-Cola Dome in JHB, offering an enticing platform of one of the fastest growing and most popular entertainment industries in the world.
