The largest capacity 16TB Sentinel DX4000 is now available from DCC
Distributor Drive Control Corporation (DCC) is now supplying the largest capacity Western Digital Sentinel small office storage server, the DX4000 with a whopping 16TB storage capacity. This complete network storage solution, designed specifically to meet the demands of today’s small to medium sized business (SMB) offers a combination of enterprise-grade functionality and pre-configured ease of setup.
The WD Sentinel DX4000 delivers centralised shared storage and automatic server-based backup and restore for up to 25 devices (PC and Mac) on the network. Built-in hardware and software redundancy for all connected devices delivers complete data protection.
“This high capacity version is ideal for power users that require one location for the safe storage of huge volumes of content including movies, photos, music, etc. or for enterprises that require extra storage capacity,” says Richard Makwela, Western Digital Product Specialist at DCC. “WD’s 16TB version of the Sentinel DX4000 is the ideal storage device for these markets.”
The integrated hardware and software solution provides a simple way to centralise documents in one secure place, with enterprise grade backup and recovery that does not require additional licence fees. It also offers remote access and administration from a web browser or mobile device, cloud enabled architecture and local cloud disaster protection.
The Sentinel DX4000 is pre-configured for plug and play installation making it easy to setup without the need for IT support, pre-installed operating system and backup and recovery software for ultimate data protection and speed. Built-in secure remote access enables users to access business information anytime, anywhere without the expense of a VPN solution and server-based backup is one of the key features enabling enterprise class, server-based backup with de-duplication and the ability to conduct bare metal restore.
The Sentinel DX4000 offers comprehensive data protection with WDs enterprise-class drives configured in RAID levels 1 and 5 offering redundancy to the user. The Sentinel is easy to maintain when replacing the pre-installed drive or adding a new drive. Swap out the drives and the Sentinel will seamlessly migrate the server to the appropriate RAID level and automatically expand the server’s storage capacity. This allows users to still access business data while the drive is been integrated with no data loss and no down time.
The Sentinel DX4000 16TB also features Dual Gigabit Ethernet for redundant network connectivity (read/write speeds up to 85MB/s), an optional dual power supply, USB 3.0, three year limited warranty and free tech support for 30 days.
The WD Sentinel DX4000 is certified to be compatible with a variety of Operating Systems (OS) including Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. In addition, WD Sentinel is compatible with Mac OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard for file sharing among Windows, Mac and Unix / Linux operating systems and allows businesses to share files with clients, consultants and inter-office personnel regardless of the OS used.
