Skype or landline? The DUALphone 4088 from Nology does both

Why choose between Skype and your landline when you can get the best of both worlds in one phone? The DUALphone 4088 from Nology allows you to switch between Skype and landline calls on the same phone without the need for a computer. The 4088 replaces a standard landline (analogue) handset and also plugs directly into a Broadband Internet connection for instant access to Skype.

With support for up to three additional handsets and two Skype accounts per base station, the DUALphone is able to handle one Skype and one fixed landline call in parallel. This handset is perfect for families or even small offices and it is easy to set up. It allows users to log into an existing Skype account or even register a new account using the intuitive colour display and also incorporates conference calling for Skype, whereby users can be invited to join a Skype conference call. Skype contacts are automatically imported into the phonebook that allows up to 200 entries.

“Skype is becoming increasingly popular as a means to communicate with others, especially within families who have relatives overseas. The DUALphone 4088 lets users experience all of the benefits of Skype without a computer, so anyone can make free ‘Skype to Skype’ calls from this convenient handset which also functions as a landline phone. Users can make and receive Skype calls seamlessly on the same handset that they make and receive landline calls from. The DUALphone 4088 is cordless due to Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) technology, delivering the best sound quality, security and range in cordless phones without interfering with Wi-Fi networks,” says Ross Griffiths, Product Manager at Nology.

The DUALphone 4088 is easy to install and easy to use with full duplex speakerphone and HD audio for crystal clear calls. The DECT functionality delivers an outdoor range of up to 300 meters and an indoor range of up to 50 meters. On a single charge you can talk for up to seven hours or have the handset on standby for up to 100 hours. Additional features include call waiting, caller line identification and message alerts that are active on all paired handsets.

Integrated Skype functionality not only enables ‘Skype-to-Skype’ calls but also ‘Skype Out’ calls which allows users to call telephone numbers using Skype credit. Skype Online numbers are also supported, which means you can receive calls from other telephones on the DUALphone 4088 handset. The device can be set to automatically or manually sign into Skype. Set up to make calls remains flexible with the option of always using Skype, always using the landline or always giving you the option to choose before making a call.

“The DUALphone 4088 is the phone of the future, combining two different voice communication technologies. It has many applications that suit both home or office environments such as allowing multiple users to converse at the same time with all of the cost saving benefits of Skype and the convenience of a cordless phone,” Griffiths concludes.

The DUALphone 4088 is available in black or white with a recommended retail price of R1299,00 inclusive of V.A.T. at Pick n Pay Hypers. For more information on where to buy contact Nology on 0861 NOLOGY (665649) or visit us at www.nology.co.za
