New bizhub production printers hit South African market
Central reprographic departments, digital print service providers and all high-volume printing environments can now enter a new realm of professionalism with the bizhub PRO B951 and the flexible, highly productive monochrome production systems, the bizhub PRESS B1052 and bizhub PRESS B1250 models by Konica Minolta South Africa.
Highlights of the bizhub PRO B951 are its affordability, extraordinarily high print resolution and outstanding media flexibility as well as a tone curve utility that comes with the printer, maxed out paper capacity and professional finishing options.
The feature list of the newly released bizhub PRO B951 is packed with gems. Among them, two attributes really stand out – its affordability and durability. With a print speed of 95 pages per minute (ppm) A4, this new entry-level system offers an excellent price-performance ratio for central reprographic departments, digital print service providers and all high-volume printing environments without compromising on quality.
The new bizhub PRO B951 carries conviction with its superior print resolution of 1,200 x 1,200 dots per inch (dpi) and offers a wide range of lines per inch (lpi) options – from 40 to 300 lpi. The production system also delivers high media flexibility: it can print on paper from 40 to 300 grams per square metre (gsm) with an option for compatibility with 350-gsm paper. The system’s standard paper format is SRA3. The fully integrated media catalogue enables operators to define their media profiles, which are stored in a library and can be easily picked up from the printer driver. In addition the scheduler function gives a detailed overview of jobs in the queue and indicates the paper needed and the amount still in the tray.
One of the essential features that delivers the bizhub PRO B951’s professional printing results is the tone curve utility: This tool can change Raster Image Processing (RIP) adjustments such as screening and tone curves. The bizhub PRO B951 holds up to 9,000 sheets of paper and enriches printouts with finishing options like stapling for up to 100 sheets, booklet making and z-folding as well as post insertion, GBC punching and automatic ring binding.
The bizhub PRO B951 is easy to operate thanks to a graphical user interface (GUI) with touch screen access and a richness of printer drivers for enhanced compatibility. Its high productivity – for example an A3 speed of 55 pages per minute (ppm) as well as impressive media flexibility – duplex printing is possible with up to 300 gsm paper, provide extremely short turnround times.

This bizhub PRESS B1052 and B1250 systems is exactly what commercial printers, print for pay environments and large central reprographic departments have been waiting for.
The PRESS models provide a print resolution of 1,200 x 1,200 dpi and offer high media flexibility. This includes the option to print on paper weights from 40 to 350 gsm in single-sided (simplex) printing and on paper of up to 300 gsm for duplex prints. Paper sizes up to 324 x 483 mm are supported and selectable through an intelligent media catalogue. Print speeds range from 105 A4 / 60 A3 ppm for the bizhub PRESS B1052 and 125 A4 / 70 A3 ppm for the bizhub PRESS B1250.
These models also feature advanced software such as a professional screening utility and an extra utility for tone curve adjustments. 18,000 sheets of paper is the maximum load that each printer will carry and seamlessly process through a vacuum feeder. Over 50 configurations are available by combining a wide variety of finishers such as an automatic ring binder, a perfect binding unit and a finisher for professional saddle stitching as well as a stacker and many more. Other features include an exclusive envelope kit for envelope printing and an optional decurling unit with a humidifier unit.
