APC by Schneider Electric introduces Back-UPS 800/ 1100 for South African users
APC by Schneider Electric, a global leader in integrated critical power and cooling services, has announced its Back-UPS 800 and 1100 (model number BX800CI-ZA and BX1100CI-ZA) series, which provides enough battery backup power to allow users to work through short length power outages.
Specifically designed for areas with rugged power conditions, the Back-UPS 800 and 1100 features Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), which stabilises output voltage to protect electronics over a wide range of a mains dips and swells, allowing users to work indefinitely during brownouts and “over” voltages.
“The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) series is available with four South African battery backup and surge protected sockets for easy-to-use connection for a PC, monitor, router and other protected equipment. Coupled with all the other standard features of the Back-UPS series, the 800 and 1100 series are perfect units to protect users’ productivity from the constant threat of bad power and lost data,” says Gina Santos, distribution manager: Southern Africa at APC by Schneider Electric.
She explains that the product applications include PC and peripherals, networking equipment (router, modem), game consoles, LCD / LED TVs and projectors with impulse power
In addition, product features comprise:
- USB Connection and PowerChute software, which protects a system by enabling unattended shut down or hibernation of PC OS when UPS battery is low. Downloadable Windows software that enables access to UPS power monitoring, and features to set operation of interface, shut down and energy savings;
- A push button circuit breaker allows quick recovery from overload; and
- A two-year warranty, free technical phone and online support
