MTN Radio Awards- Entries Streaming in

With just two weeks to go until the closing date for submission of entries for the MTN Radio Awards, entries are starting to stream in at a steady rate.

Lance Rothschild, CEO of the MTN Radio Awards says: “We have already received over 100 submissions and as the deadline looms, we are anticipating many more entries. We are already significantly ahead of the number of entries that we had received at this stage last year and we are hoping to receive well in excess last year’s 866 entries. We are also receiving many queries from stations that are entering the awards for the first time and we hope to have an increased number of stations participating this year.”

The MTN Radio Awards office is receiving several calls a day with regards to entries. “There is a lot of interest in this year’s awards programme and we have even had people personally deliver their entries to our offices”, says Taryn Westoby, MTN Radio Awards COO. “Online registrations for the submission of entries have also increased over last year, indicating that we should exceed last year’s entries.”

“These awards promote excellence in radio and recognise those who are striving to make better, more compelling programmes,” says Serame Taukobong, Chief Marketing Officer for MTN SA. “They create a platform for the radio industry to celebrate talent and they bring the industry into the spotlight.”

There are 29 Awards categories, 3 of which are nomination categories recognising individuals who have made- or are making- their mark on the radio industry. Entry criteria and instructions can be found on www.mtnradioawards.com

The MTN Radio Awards culminate in a Gala Awards Banquet at the Sandton Convention Centre on Saturday 13 April. For tickets to the event, contact Taryn Westoby on 011 803 2040 or [email protected] or visit www.mtnradioawards.com
