Mahala is back! Bigger and better than ever
From today, MTN will reward its PayAsYouGo and TopUp customers with 50% Mahala Airtime when they recharge. The free airtime value will be every day, on all recharges from a minimum of R10, allowing MTN customers to make cheaper MTN to MTN calls, send SMS and access to the Internet. In addition, MTN is giving customers more time to use their free airtime, now with varying expiry periods depending on the airtime recharge value.
Says Serame Taukobong, MTN South Africa’s Chief Marketing Officer: “A year ago we introduced Mahala Thursdays to add more value to our customers, by providing them with a way to stretch their airtime and stay connected on their cellphones. This offer received huge interest from our customers. We have decided to not only bring back the Thursday Mahala promotion, but to offer even more value by giving our customers relief during these frugal times and lowering the cost to communicate.
“Our strength comes from understanding our customers’ needs for value and affordability and because of this, the 50% Mahala Airtime promotion was the obvious step for us. We take pride in our ability to innovate new products that add value to our customer’s lives.”
The MTN 50% Mahala Airtime Recharge Promotion, will guarantee more talk time, SMS and Internet access for MTN customers, giving our customers every reason to stay on the MTN network.
In order to receive the 50% Mahala Airtime, MTN customers need to recharge with a minimum of R10.00, every day of the week from Monday to Sunday, which may be cumulative on the day of recharge.
For example, if a customer recharges for R5.00 at 7am, the customer will not receive the free airtime value; however if the same customer recharges that day with another R5.00, the customer will receive the 50% (R5.00) free airtime value.
“MTN is committed to adding value to its customers by listening to their needs and giving back value through promotions such as MTN 50% Mahala Airtime Recharge promotion. Once again, proving MTN to be the leading operator in this market.” says Taukobong.
