TEAMtalk media secures exclusive rights to English Premier League data in SA
TEAMtalk media has reacquired the exclusive South African data license for the English Premier League for the next three years. Having previously represented the world’s most popular football league through its acquisition of PA Sport South Africa in 2011, this time the digital sports media group won the rights following a competitive bidding process.
The deal, which will come into effect at the start of the 2013/14 season, will run for three seasons and will see TEAMtalk being granted exclusivity in South Africa and co-selling rights on the rest of the continent.
Providing sports news and data to major players around the globe, the company has a well established client base which includes Sky Sports, Supersport, Primedia, Times Media, Naspers, as well as Orange, Virgin, MTN, Vodacom, MSN, Yahoo, amongst others.
“Football in Africa is a rapidly growing market,” said TEAMtalk media’s General Manager Ant Pascoe, “And the EPL is the one league that transcends all national boundaries and which engages and attracts fans from throughout the continent.
